Working Principle
The analyzer employs the alkaline potassium persulfate digestion method. The water sample undergoes rapid digestion under sealed, high-temperature, and high-pressure conditions, converting nitrogen-containing compounds into nitrate nitrogen. UV spectrophotometry is then used to measure the absorbance at wavelengths of 220nm (A₂₂₀) and 275nm (A₂₇₅). The corrected absorbance (A) is calculated using the formula A = A₂₂₀ – 2A₂₇₅, from which the total nitrogen content is derived. The instrument’s measurement principle conforms to the standard HJ 636-2012 “Water Quality – Determination of Total Nitrogen – Alkaline Potassium Persulfate Digestion UV Spectrophotometric Method”.
